I can't believe 2008 is already over! What a year it has been. I hope your year was filled with many opportunities to take great pictures and share them with friends and family!
Have you organized your photos in your online account from this past year? No? That's ok, I'm here to help! This is the perfect time to transfer and organize all of your photos from the past year, as well as get ready for 2009. Transferring photos to your online photo account frees up space on your computer and memory cards. More importantly, you get the peace of mind that all of your precious photos are safe and secure in your online photo account, no matter what happens to your computer.
To transfer and organize your 2008 photos, follow these two simple steps:
Create and Organize Your Albums
Log into your online photo account and click the "My Albums" link on the right side of the page. Click the "Folder Options" drop down list and click "Create New Folder." Name the album (such as "January 2008" or any other naming scheme you come up with) and press "Create New Album." This creates an empty album for you to save pictures in. Repeat this process for as many new albums as you want. I suggest creating a new album for each month from 2008, or for each memorable event, like a birthday party or vacation.
Transfer your Photos into the New Albums Once the albums are created, press the "Add Photos" button on the right to transfer photos into the empty albums from your computer or memory cards. Press the "click here" button in step 2 of the transfer process to choose the specific album where you are transferring the photos. You can also easily move pictures from one album to another once they are transferred using the "Copy/Move" feature on the "My Albums" page. Select the photos at the bottom of the page and press "Send." Repeat this process until all of your 2008 photos have been transferred and organized into albums!
Now, doesn't that feel better? All of your photos are safely stored and organized online, and are easily accessible to share and print anytime! You can even take this process to the next level and create photo book of all your favorite 2008 photos!
You may also want to consider setting up all of your albums for 2009 in advance. Then, set periodic reminders throughout the upcoming year to transfer your photos into those albums. A year from now, your photo organizing will already be finished!

What song were you listening to on that road trip when the picture was taken? How was your child's first airplane experience? What was your waiter's name that took care of you so well on your cruise? Details like these are what really make a travel photo book unique and allow you to relive your memories again and again.

Wedding photo books are some of the most popular themes for photo books today, but that doesn't mean that you cannot be creative! For example, you could create separate photo books for your rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception. You could also create a book of candid shots from the wedding weekend. Create one book to give to family members and one to give to friends, each with different pictures and captions. Or, as a gift to your bridesmaids or groomsmen, create a photo book from the bachelorette or bachelor party, and write in the book why each friendship is so important to you. Just be sure to use pictures that won't get you in any trouble!

Make a Personalized Calendar!

It's hard to believe, but it's almost time for christmas! Before all the hussle and bussel of the holidays, this is a great time for you to catch up with friends and swap stories. It is also the perfect time to make a special gift for your family and friends - a photo calendar! Follow these simple steps and you'll have your calendar ready in just a few easy steps!
1A. Getting Started
To begin, log into your online photo account and click the yellow "Create Cards and Calendars" tab.
1B. Click "Create A Calendar"
Click "Calendars," click "Multi-Page Calendar," and click "Create a Calendar" to start from scratch.
1C. Select Your Size
Select the size you want, and click "Next Step."
2. Select a Start Date and Theme
Now it's time to set up your calendar. First, select the month you would like displayed on the first page of your calendar using the "Starting Month" drop-down box. You can choose whatever month works best for you. Next, select the theme you want from the "Themes" tab along the bottom. There are dozens of themes available; browse what is there and select the one you like best. Once it is selected, click "Next Step."
3. Add Your Photos
To add photos to your calendar, drag a photo onto each month. You can add additional photos to each month later if you'd like. I recommend clicking the "Save" button to make sure this work is saved; click it frequently from now on to ensure no work is lost. Once the pictures are added, click "Preview."
4A. Customize Your Calendar
On the "Preview" page, click any month to view that particular page in your calendar. To make any changes, click "Customize."
4B. Edit The Photos
Use the tabs along to bottom to add or replace photos by dragging them onto the page. Click on a photo in your calendar to edit it. You can also add clipart, add borders to photos, change the page background, and add text to each page.
4C. Edit the Days and Months
Click the "Bottom" view to customize each day of the month, and click on any particular day to customize it. You can add custom holidays like birthdays, as well as important school activities like tests, sports games, and anything else you think is helpful. You can also drag photos from the bottom onto a particular day (like a child's birthday) to further enhance any day of the year. When you are finished customizing your calendar, press "Preview."
5. Review and Order!
Review each page carefully (don't forget to check your spelling!). When you are ready to order, press "Add To Cart" and proceed to check out. That's it!
